In October of 2022 I spent the month painting a cloudscape every day. The practice was beneficial in many ways; painting daily increased my willingness to “mess up,” to be more experimental with color palettes, and expanded my horizons as I formed new compositions in repeated subject matter.
I remember wanting to experiment with a cool, vivid green I’d never used before, & used it for the majority of the underpainting. It yielded a an energetic foundation for a this calm before the storm type scene.
I was happy with the variety of textures and the successful incorporation of several high intenity colors.
